Decreto n.º 23/2001

Artigo 1.º

As Partes Contratantes envidarão todos os esforços para desenvolver as relações turísticas entre os dois países, com o objectivo de estimular um melhor conhecimento da cultura e da história de ambos os povos.

Artigo 2.º

As Partes Contratantes, de acordo com as legislações nacionais em vigor, esforçar-se-ão por simplificar as formalidades e o controlo de fronteiras e encorajarão a cooperação entre as agências de viagens e outras organizações e empresas ligadas ao sector turístico dos seus países.

Artigo 3.º

a)Facilitar a promoção turística, através da troca de informação, de publicidade e de outros materiais promocionais, com vista a incentivar os fluxos turísticos bilaterais, assim como o conhecimento dos atractivos turísticos dos dois países;

b)Participar na organização de exposições, feiras e outros eventos turísticos a realizar no território da outra Parte.

Artigo 4.º

As Partes Contratantes encorajarão a troca de experiências e de know-how nos domínios do planeamento e financiamentos turísticos, manutenção de infra-estruturas e das instalações turísticas.

Artigo 5.º

As Partes Contratantes incentivarão a troca de informação e de documentação no domínio da formação de técnicos dos sectores turístico e hoteleiro, apoiando, sempre que possível, as respectivas acções de formação.

Artigo 6.º

As Partes Contratantes promoverão o desenvolvimento da cooperação entre os organismos oficiais de turismo dos dois países.

Artigo 7.º

O presente Acordo entrará em vigor na data da última notificação do cumprimento das formalidades constitucionais exigidas em cada Parte, através de canais diplomáticos.

O Acordo permanecerá válido por um período de cinco anos, renovável automaticamente por igual período, salvo se qualquer das Partes, com seis meses de antecedência, o denunciar por escrito.

Feito em Lisboa em 10 de Maio de 2000, em dois exemplares originais, nas línguas portuguesa, estónia e inglesa, os três textos fazendo igualmente fé. Em caso de divergência de interpretação, prevalecerá o texto em inglês.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA ON CO-OPERATION IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM.

The Government of the Portuguese Republic and the Government of the Republic of Estonia, hereinafter referred to as «the Contracting Parties»:

Wishing to strengthen friendly relations between their States;

Recognising the importance of tourism for the development of economic and cultural relations as well as for the improving of mutual understanding between their peoples;

In conformity with the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit;

have agreed as follows:

Article 1

The Contracting Parties shall make efforts to further and develop tourism relations between their States, particularly for the purpose of increasing tourism traffic between their States and improving the mutual knowledge of culture and history of their people.

Article 2

The Contracting Parties shall endeavour to facilitate travelling formalities between their States in accordance with their respective laws and regulations and shall encourage co-operation between the travel agencies and other organisations and enterprises engaged in tourism in their territories.

Article 3

With a view to making better known to the public of the other Contracting Party their tourism attractions and increasing the bilateral tourist movement, the Contracting Parties shall encourage mutual tourism promotion through the exchange of information, publicity and other promotional materials.

For the same purpose, each Contracting Party shall also examine the possibility of participating in organising exhibitions, fairs and other events in the field of tourism in the territory of the other Contracting Party.

Article 4

The Contracting Parties shall encourage the exchange of the experiences an know-how in the field of planning and financing tourism, in developing and maintaining their tourism infrastructure and in operating tourism installations.

Article 5

The Contracting Parties shall exchange information and documentation in the field of training of personnel in the hotel and tourism sector and, if possible, render mutual assistance in the training of the said personnel.

Article 6

The Contracting Parties shall make efforts to develop co-operation between their governmental tourism authorities.

Article 7

This Agreement shall enter into force on the receiving date of the last notification by which the Contracting Parties have notified each other, through diplomatic channels, of the completion of their internal legal procedures.

Article 8

This Agreement shall remain in force for five years and shall thereafter be automatically renewed each time for additional five-year periods, unless denounced by written notification by one of the Contracting Parties at least six months prior to the expiration of each period.

Done at Lisbon on the 10 th May 2000, in two originals in the Portuguese, Estonian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretation the English text shall prevail.
