3 -Em caso de cessação do presente Acordo, qualquer programa ou projecto de intercâmbio iniciado com base neste Acordo e ainda em curso permanecerá válido até à sua conclusão.
Em fé do que os abaixo assinados, tendo sido devidamente autorizados, assinaram o presente Acordo.
Feito em Lisboa no dia 6 de Abril de 1998, em dois originais nas línguas portuguesa, eslovena e inglesa, sendo todos os textos igualmente autênticos.
Em caso de diferente interpretação prevalecerá o texto em língua inglesa.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC AND THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SCIENCE.
The Portuguese Republic and the Republic of Slovenia (hereinafter referred to as «the Parties»):
Desirous of encouraging and developing coope-ration between the two states in the fields of education, culture and science;
Convinced that such cooperation will contribute to mutual understanding and enhancement of relations between the two countries;
Resolved to respect the principles of the Helsinki Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Paris Charter for a New Europe and the Vienna Declaration of the Council of Europe;
have agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Parties shall encourage and make possible cooperation between cultural, educational and scientific institutions of both countries. They shall also encourage and promote the spread of their respective languages and cultures.
Article 2
The Parties shall support exchanges of artists and experts in the fields of fine arts, theatre, music, film, radio and television, literature, libraries, museums and archives.
Article 3
The Parties shall encourage cooperation in preserving their cultural heritage.
Article 4
The Parties shall, in accordance with respective legislations, cooperate in preventing illicit trafficking of cultural properties.
Article 5
The Parties shall support the exchange of university teachers, students, scientists and experts. They shall also, in the scope of their means, grant scholarships for study and specialized training to students and researchers of the other Party.
Article 6
The Parties shall, in accordance with their respective internal legislations, examine necessary conditions for the mutual recognition of academic titles.
Article 7
Cooperation in the field of science, research and technology shall be regulated by a special agreement, should the Parties agree so.
Article 8
To this end the Parties shall encourage and facilitate, on the basis of mutual benefit, exchanges and cooperation in the fields of theoretical and applied sciences and provide appropriate opportunities for contacts between scientific institutions and organizations, research institutes, universities as well as other institutions of higher education, scholars, researchers and specialists of the two countries; they shall also encourage joint activities in specialized areas and topics of common interest.
In order to develop and expand scientific cooperation, the Parties shall facilitate, inter alia:
1) Visits, study trips and consultations of researchers, scientists and other experts;
2) Joint elaboration and implementation of research programmes and projects and exchange of the results thereof;
3) Organization of joint courses, conferences and symposia;
4) Exchange of audiovisual material of a scientific nature;
5) Organization of scientific exhibitions and displays;
6) Exchange of scientific literature, documentation and information.
Article 9
The Parties shall support cooperation between sports organizations and participation in sporting events in both countries.
Article 10
The Parties shall encourage cooperation and exchanges between the young and between youth organizations of the two countries.
Article 11
The Parties shall support cooperation in the field of mass media of the two countries.
Article 12
The Parties shall, in accordance with regulations and laws in force in their respective territories, grant all conceivable concessions for the entry, departure and stay of persons and for the import of materials and equipment necessary for the implementation of programmes or exchanges agreed in accordance with the present Agreement.
