4 -A cessação de vigência do presente Acordo Suplementar não afetará a validade do Acordo Relativo à Criação, Funcionamento e Localização da Unidade Operacional de Governação Eletrónica Orientada para Políticas da Universidade das Nações Unidas, incluindo no que concerne ao seu artigo 1.º respeitante aos objetivos e atividades da Unidade Operacional, enquanto o mesmo permanecer em vigor.
Em fé do que, os representantes, devidamente autorizados para o efeito, assinaram o presente Acordo Suplementar.
Feito em Lisboa, em 26 de julho de 2021, em dois originais, nas línguas portuguesa e inglesa, sendo todos os textos igualmente autênticos.

SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC AND THE UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSITY ON THE ESTABLISHMENT, OPERATION AND LOCATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSITY OPERATING UNIT ON POLICY-DRIVEN ELECTRONIC GOVERNANCE IN GUIMARÃES, PORTUGAL.
The Portuguese Republic and the United Nations University (hereinafter referred to as «the Parties»):
Whereas the United Nations University (hereinafter referred to as «UNU» or «the University») was established as a subsidiary organ of the United Nations by General Assembly resolution 2951 (XXVII) of 11 December 1972;
Whereas the Council of the University decided at its 61st session in Rome, Italy on 12-13 May 2014 to establish the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (hereinafter referred to as «the Operating Unit») as a research and training programme of the University, in Guimarães, Portugal;
Whereas the Portuguese Republic and the University have concluded on 23 May 2014 the Agreement between the United Nations University and the Portuguese Republic concerning the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance in Guimarães, Portugal;
Whereas the Portuguese Republic and the University have concluded on 23 May 2014 the Agreement between the United Nations University and the Portuguese Republic on the Establishment, Operation and Location of the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance in Guimarães, Portugal, hereinafter referred to as «the Agreement»;
Whereas Article 3 of the Agreement provides that the Portuguese Republic shall make available and raise core funding for the Operating Unit of US$5.0 million, during the period 2014-2018;
Whereas the Portuguese Republic desires to continue its contribution to the activities of the Operating Unit during the period 2019-2023;
Whereas Article 11 of the Agreement provides that Parties may enter into such supplemental agreements as may be necessary;

Article 1
Purpose
The purpose of this Supplemental Agreement is to establish additional operating contributions by the Portuguese Republic for the Operating Unit during the period 2019-2023.
